Welcome to A Posh Pooch’s new website. I am really glad to have you here because that means that you love your pooch the same way that I love mine!
This website is a work in progress. I love designing websites and this one is turning out to be a lot of fun. I just need more hours in the day! I’m not complaining… I get to spend my time creating and testing recipes with some pretty discriminating canines, baking and frosting all the goodness into our homemade organic dog cookies and then hand crafting the packaging. During the cooler seasons and especially at holiday time, I’ll take my fresh baked dog cookies along with some other posh pooch products on the road so to speak. I’ll be out at local places like the farmers market along with local craft holiday shows for all the local posh pooches in the area to enjoy. I enjoy getting out and meeting the people who have dogs and are crazy about them like I am about my own dog Lucy.
I also have an elderly Siamese cat named Sheba who puts up with the dog and has been a wonderful companion for many years. My Dad has a cat as well. Ms. Cleo is her name. She is a beautiful cat but about as smart as a box of rocks. She came from a long line of feral cats and never got the crazy quite out of her.
About A Posh Pooch:
I am an empty nester who is grateful to have the love of a 5 year old yellow lab named Lucy who obtained through the local SPCA. I won’t say I rescued her, if truth be told, we rescued each other. I adore her and she is obsessed with me so it’s a great arrangement and we get along fabulously!
Until recently, I owned and operated a small marketing firm here in Charleston SC. I helped local brick and mortar business owners connect with the local consumers in their market who were looking for their particular type of product and/or service using both traditional and online marketing methods.
In 2011, I became the full time caretaker of my dad who suffered a stroke and to an even greater extent, six months ago when my dad experienced a fall leaving him unable to walk or even stand for more than a moment or two. We were hopeful that after two back surgeries he would regain the use of his legs however to date there hasn’t been any change.
I wasn’t happy with the care my dad received from outsiders and it was very difficult for me to entrust his care to someone who didn’t love him. I decided that I wanted to provide my dad’s care myself and I began thinking about businesses that I could truly operate from home while caring for my father.
This is how A Posh Pooch was born.
We are a small business but we hope we we will have a big impact on what you feed your dog. In fact, we are primarily a one woman show. With some help from my daughter and granddaughters, I am personally responsible for creating the recipes, home baking the products, creating the packaging, and preparing the products for sale as well of head of web development, social media manager, and director of marketing and I love every minute of it! It feels like I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing!
Why you should buy your dog’s treats from A Posh Pooch:
- It’s good for your dog!
First and foremost, I care about your dog. I love dogs and I not only care about what I feed my dog, I want what’s best for your pooch too. You can learn a little about what products we are offering here.
A Posh Pooch creates only home baked dog treats that are made from natural and organic ingredients. You can be sure that what goes in our dog treats is good for your favorite pooch. In fact, if you don’t mind your cookies made without any sugar and salt, you can even eat them yourself! You can rest assured that all of the ingredients we use are the ones made for human consumption. It’s the same thing you’d buy for yourself at your local grocery or health food store.
- It’s good for the community
We donate 10% of our proceeds and all of our unsold packaged treats to local animal shelters, rescues, and organizations. It’s our way to help a few homeless pets and contribute to the community. We hope that is important to you also.
Well, that’s it for now. Please check back here after the holidays when we will have the website in full operation. In the meantime, sign up for our newsletter and we’ll help you sniff out some important information you need to know about your dog’s health and nutritional needs, share some dog treat recipes you can make in your own home, and interesting tips and tricks in caring for your dog.
Thanks for visiting us. We look forward to a long and lasting relationship.
